Hey strong people kale back here from starting strong man calm and today I am going to be reviewing the twin stim OTC a couple months ago I reviewed the tens 7,000 unit which has been very helpful with relieving pain in my low back as I'm sure a lot of you trained strongman can relate that's a ongoing issue my back hurts and we're always looking to use the best recovery and you know tools to speed up our train so we can go back to training hard and just being generally more comfortable in life your recovery is huge more you can recover the harder you can train anyways how to just had a nagging back injury but for around thirty dollars the ten seven thousand unit is a cheap you know tens unit which means transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation so if you have some sort of like actual nerve pain it seems helpful I'm not a doctor just using my first hand its experience using things and what I like about them and what I don't but it's been very helpful and my wife has practically stole it from me you can check out my review on that product in the description below I'll put a link to that it's in my original review of the tens thousand seven unit my wife has had three back surgeries over the years and you know she's a professional hunter jumper rider which means she jumps horses over things you know and with having a two-year-old toddler you got to carry them all the time they end up sleeping on you sleeps on me and you end up in stuck in position so your back gets cranky and can't always do what you want so being able to use one of those units and just put it on when you get a free thirty minutes to do something and you know you can set it there it's been pretty helpful what the ten seven thousand unit did not provide was EMS which you see if you're not aware means electric muscle stimulation so I picked up ten seven thousand unit the twins stim OTC comes in this little carrying case and it's labeled right there pretty much looks from the case looks just like the tens 7,000 you're in except from this one it says twins Tim OTC not ten seven thousand what it does is it combines their 10 7000 unit which is you know again a TENS unit and the ems 7500 which is an electric muscle stimulation unit you can get it for $45.99 on Amazon is one of the cheaper units that provides these feature so how has it worked so I've been using this product for over two months I've tried every type of setting on it let me open the box up it's just the box you know has little electrodes which come a lot neater than that but like I said I'm using this for a while because I like to use products for a long time before tell you about them and here's the little unit uses a 9-volt battery and has a little thing open it up put you know the settings on there up or down turn it on here you know as two channels hooks up to four electrodes you can change you know if you put one on the left one on the right maybe one's a little more sore you can change which is what you want it has a bunch of settings on it and I would say that's my biggest gripe is that let me see if I can switch through these modes well I'm going so like see all the different settings has like I think 5-10 settings and two EMS settings and to me it can get a little confusing on what I need to do of course I could always just look at the user manual that's pretty informative in there on what setting does what but for me like I look at this as very passive recovery it's not like foam rolling or stretching or something where you have to put fit into it and how I use this unit is I put it on while I'm working writing programs for my clients reviewing videos answering emails all that kind of stuff for 30 minutes and if I have some low back pain I put it on the 10 setting because that seems to help more with nerve pain and what electric muscle stimulation I put on the EMS setting if like let's say I train something the day before like my legs are completely sword from heavy squats I'll put it on my quads and just it sends some electrical you know pulses to the muscle contracts it get some blood flow and it seems if I'm really sore to alleviate some ofthat soreness and make it so I you know if I over you something if the muscles seem to recover slightly faster you you're not going to get a miracle out of a unit like this you know it's gonna be pretty pretty small amount of relief or recovery but in strongman training we're kind of always looking for you know for every little advantage and the way I look at it is this thing's $45.99 that's not that expensive you can get it there just you know link below through my Amazon affiliate link and it's passive I can put this on while I'm doing other stuff other than having you know to put on a couple electrodes which I will do and my biggest issue as far as recovery has been right in my Brockie Alice right here hopefully I said the right thing I had an ongoing form issue which has affected my log cleans which is what I'm trying to do my road to 300 log sometimes I have to take a break from doing cleans because yeah it freakin might I have just an ongoing issue there in my forearm and I think it comes from having to hold you know I just got it over it used my son was sleeping on my arm and it's just stuck in the same position for eight hours for a long time and I do a lot of you know manual labor around my house with using chainsaws weed eaters and all of those a good dad you know living that dad life putting my New Balances on and after it on the yard so that's how long it took to hook up the the farms you put them about hook up the electrodes then you you know just turn on the setting here just turn it on a little bit and for the mode there's two separate EMS settings I like it on the a and for the ramp I like one second and then four seconds on and I put it C so this is the weird thing and something I notice is I have the right set to a three the left set to a three and I feel a no right which is you know way always sore always bothering me and I use this for you know as I rehab it some relief even on the same setting as far as you know how strong I have it on it always jumps more and this thing gets I usually put it like see it twitching I put on about a three to four usually maybe like two to three so I can actually work while I'm doing it from what I read I don't think you really want it where it actually move makes the muscle jump just needs a light gradual you know setting where it's just you can feel kind of tick tick and it's just nice you know contracting the muscle getting some blood flow in there and hopefully providing some relief I've found some relief you can get it for the link below all you also include a link to the tens to 7,000
